Thanks for the info HH21, I did not know that. I've added a picture of the front (and others) to this post.

The only advantage of the navi is the integration with the e-drive (helps plan the most efficient usage of the ICE + has charging stations with actual state integrated). Other than that I'll not miss it. I was on a (company) budget and am a long time TomTom/Waze user. I've had navigation build in before, but almost never used it, so I was happy I could spend the money on something else :) . I've also read user reports (on the dutch autoweek.nl) where users complain about a slow navi-system (possibly due to limited processor in the AT compared to other models with the 'same size/feature' navigation systems).

So I have my car for about a week now. I ordered (in Belgium) the default (advantage model) package with some options: seating pack, sensatec, folding exterior mirrors, interior auto dimming rear mirror, extra 12V in front, front and rear sensors, rear view camera and Platinsilber Color. That's it, no navigation etc.

Time for some short first impressions:

    • Blue front grill, did not notice this on the test car or photo's on the web, but it is nice
    • Yes, the back seat is angle adjustable as standard! It is an option on the other Active Tourers, together with the adjustable rear seat depth (not available on the 225xe)
    • Standard Sound System is just fine! Plays fine from my 128GB exFat usb stick with mp3 and flac files.
    • Drives like a dream! Lots of power at non-highway speeds, at highway speeds less but adequate. You do feel you are saeted a bit higher when cornering. Handeling is ok.
    • Electric range is just fine. Daily commute of 2x15km is about 80% flat 90km/h and 20% 50km/h or less. The car just makes it (or not depending on the driving style).
    • Installed a new charging station to shorten the charging times and it is way more practical (will post some pictures later)
    • Booth space is just fine. I have a 2 month old and everything (just) fits in the booth (also thanks to the adjustable rear seats).
    • e-services via eRemote work just fine (comes as standard) including gps-tracking, althrough I don't have a navigation system. Registration on the Connected Drive website was a mess, but it works now (needed a day to activate apparently)

So, I'll try to add some pictures later and keep you posted.

Got my car yesterday. The e-drive Services (SA6) came standard with the car (here in Belgium). I have no other options (no Remote Services/Connected Drive) and I'm perfectly able to register my car on the Connected Drive website and use all functions of the BMW Remote app (car control, GPS-tracking and e-specific functions).

Just got word from my dealer the car arrived yesterday (two weeks early). So I had to wait 11 weeks :)
Next week (after some administration) I'll be driving a 225xe :) Will let you know what I think of it. Previous main cars: 2 years Toyota Prius 3, 2 years Opel Ampera, 1 year Honda Insight and 2 years Ford Focus... You see, the car will add to my Hybrid experience ;)

Sorry for using English, but this seems like this is the only active (future) owner forum for the 225xe world wide.

For your information: My 225xe order was officially placed in week 21 here in Belgium and it will be delivered at the dealer around week 34. So far no delays in my order (last week the dealer said the car already had a VIN assigned, so the production/delivery date should be pretty accurate now). I did not order the car with a lot of options (not even a navigation system), maybe that made things go faster :)
